Bad advise, first off you are able to defend your self from your parents then it means you are at least 15 - 16 or something like that which means you have the agency and the mental fortitude to take more permanent and impact actions against abusive parents , the point is not being able to defend your self its to be able to live in an enviroment where you dont need to defend your self from your loved ones all day long, the fear,the intimidation and the stress is what fucks kids up not the fucking beatings and that fear and stress does not go away even if you are able to defend your self. What i get from this post is that you get bullied at home and you recently managed to defend your self form one of their attacks, but after you did, you had no one to brag to so you made this post ( am i right ? ). I feel for you if your in a abusing parent situation but dont give such bad and misinformed advise, if you are really in an abusing household i would beg you to seek outside help.

Stop using the word "hit" when you mean spank. Hit implies abuse, spanking means discipline. Why is sex with minor illegal? Why do youth have different rights? Because they are not mentally grown yet. WIth a younger mind, reason isn't always there to graps the rules and follow them. I always promote always testing their reasoning ability before any physical discipline. But when the mind won't accept, a light physical jolt, has a better chance of creating a "don't" response. By the time the child can "defend" itself, it is hopefully ready to be reasonable as well. many place 7 as the age of reason. Parents who want their kids to learn discipline may have to resort to spanking. hopefully rarely, but to a child who is incapable of reason, and is not given repercussions for unhealthy behaviours, only a disservice is given. Congratulations if you or yours don't have to resort to it.Apologies if you or yours have had discipline taken beyond to the point of actual abuse.

spanking to me is just wrong, i was spanked as a child all it did was teach me to fear my father, my first memory is i think i knocked something over by acsedent and i ran and hide in the dark coz i knew he was going to hurt me, he didnt beat the shit out of me or anything but i was 4/5 he was huge compared to me and i remeber his outline agest the dark crying because i was fucking terrrifed of him. part of me is still afade of the dark becuase of moments like that. you can raise your kids without spanking/hiting and them still be normal well adjusted pepole you just got to work hard and teach them whats right and wrong not make them more afade of you than what your trying to stop them doing.

It's true my mom stopped slapping me after she almost broke her arm againt my elbow, on the other hand occasional slap won't hurt the child and helps in keeping it in line, but keeping it educational of course. Not too hard or without a clear reason
